Gennaio
The cover photo was of junior racer Emily Newman. The Asian-Pacific Championships were held in Perth, Australia. The winner of the International Seniors was Sweden's Lars Forsman with Mike Wilson second. Stefano Modena, now a Formula 1 jockey was handicapped by delays in clearing his equipment through customs. Current Grand Prix star, Michael Schumacher, was in the Juniors but the class was initially won by Giovanni Bonano who was then excluded for illegal tyres.

Febbraio
The cover photo was of Gordon Messanger at Tilbury. David Coulthard, currently test driving the Williams F1 car, won Junior Britain at Rowrah. An important step in providing alternatives for the 125cc classes was the introduction of the rotary valve and P&R versions of the Minarelli to the U.K. market by Phoenix. We published photos of dirt track racing at Ascot in California, for which category there was growing enthusiasm in the USA. Harm Schuurman won the International in Dubai.

Marzo
The cover photo was of 250 National competitors Derek Rodgers and Alan Cheetham. The large number of RAC Kart Champions swamped the RAC prize presentation, made by Alan Watson, and prompted the decision that was to eventually cut down the number of RAC kart class champions. Amongst the winners that became successful car racers were McNish, Hunnisett and Luby. Clay Pigeon reported a large entry for 100 Britain. The Motor Sports Show included karts by ART, Phoenix and TKM.

Aprile
The cover photo was of Shaun Nicholson racing in Junior Britain. We carried the news of TKM's venture into 125cc with gearbox engine production. At last Paul Molloy let us take photos of his superbly produced and shapely PMP exhaust expansion boxes. The first ever World Kart Championship to be held outside Europe was round one of the 250cc event held at Zwartkop, South Africa and won by Brian Heerey. Martin Bott won Intercontinental A in the CIK All-Africa championships.

Maggio
The cover photo was of Brian Heerey, winner of the 250 World Championship round in South Africa. It snowed at Cadwell, Steve Styrin winning the Superkarts. A visit to Kartpro showed them to be thriving, particularly on export, and well stocked with equipment and accessories. The multi-component construction of the expensive Minilite wheels was reviewed. After the loss of Plymouth Hoe for meetings, the Plymouth KC relocated to the Riverside Kartway in the car park of a Toshiba factory.

Giugno
The cover photo was of David Jackson at Kimbolton. Hewland announced that they had sold the manufacture of their kart engine, the successful bidder eventually being Tal-Ko. Mallory Park provided evidence of a boom for the 125cc class. A new Gillard kart was launched with a lower centre of gravity than before. Patron introduced their 'Knight' kart. Rowrah had a visit from the RAC's noise meter team and '94 Williams Formula 1 test driver, David Coulthard, won Junior Britain.

Luglio
The first round of the Euro 135cc champs took place at Le Mans and was won by Mike Wilson. The cover showed John Alcorn competing there. Martin Hines won both races at the TV Times Challenge at Donington. The Global Cup at Rye House was again sponsored by Philishave, the winner being Ricky Grice. Steve Styrin made it three in a row by winning 250 International at Mallory Park. Two new versions of Motoplat ignition were announced, one with automatic advance and the other with a smaller stator.

Agosto
Junior Britain driver Mark Hawkes was on the front cover. Although Mike Wilson was fastest in the time trials at Jesolo, Bugatti won the final after Mike broke his brake pedal. Dunlop released hard to come by technical info on their tyres. For the first time the World Cup was moved from its traditional Morecambe venue to Donington, being won by Brian Heerey. Sospiri beat future F1 driver Modena at the European Championships at Fano in Italy. 500 youngsters took part in the Schools enduro champs.

Settembre
Chris Stoney at Cadwell was on the cover. Roger Goff won the 125 Nat. and 250 Int. short circuit RAC champs titles at Three Sisters. The latest multi-adjustable Deavin Sprint was announced. Martin Hines won 250 Int. at the Silverstone Kart GP. We had photos of the water-cooled 250cc KTM K543. Reg Gange won the 250cc World Champs rounds in the wet at the Nurburgring and also the Euro champs title. It was decided that U.K. kart drivers would require medical certificates.

Ottobre
Gary Moynihan, the RAC 100 National Champion, was on the front cover. F1 driver Stefano Modena won the European title with third placed Gert Munkholm to become World Kart Champion five years later. We pictured the beautiful new Stratos bodywork. Mike Wilson won both the Luxembourg and Dahlem rounds of the Formula K G. P. series. The World Junior champs sounded like a present day Formula 1 grid with the likes of Schumacher, Hakkinen and Morbidelli, the title going to Andrea Gilardi.

Novembre
Jorn Haase, winner of the World Champs at Liedolsheim, was the cover photo. Mike Wilson led the World final until his motor blew. The John Mills kart firm celebrated their silver jubilee after 25 years of successful trading. We reported on the new TKM BT82 piston-timed motor from which roots was eventually launched the highly popular TKM mono-make class. New karts introduced included the S-XK3 from Kartpro and a gearbox class frame from Aero.

Dicembre
Lennart Bohlin of Sweden was on the front cover to mark his win in the CIK Formula E World Champs after winning the final round at Le Mans. Brian Heerey had won in South Africa, Martin Hines at Silverstone and Reg Gange at the Nurburgring. Richard Dean won 250 Int. at the Snetterton round of the RAC Long circuit champs in pouring rain that reduced the finishers to just eight. Rowrah staged a Bank Holiday Mega-Meeting with Junior Britain being won by David Coulthard.
